SOCIAL housing tenants in Redditch are being asked to put their rent first in the lead up to Christmas in a campaign launched this week .
Staff from leading West Midlands housing and social care provider the Accord Group will be out and about for the next two weeks visiting customers, offering debt advice and support and setting up payment plans for those who have fallen in to arrears in the lead up to Christmas.
Carl Taylor, director of Redditch Co-operative Homes, part of the Accord Group, said: “We understand people are struggling in these difficult times and even more so in the run-up to Christmas, but we also know how important it is to promote a positive payment culture and continue to collect as much rent as we can.
“The important thing to remember is to not ignore the problem, please talk to us as we will always try to help.”
