Christmas charity is back to build funds in Redditch

Redditch Editorial 29th Dec, 2017   0

POLISH charity fund raiser Wosp Redditch – which in English means (The Great Orchestra Christmas Charity), is back for the second year in Redditch.

It runs over the weekend of January 13-14, 2018, at the Mettis Sports and Social Club Cherry Tree Walk, Redditch.

Last year’s event at The Railway on Hewell Road was a great success raising £5,000 for the Polish charity and next year’s promises to be bigger and better. Organisers Monika Kamila and Frankie Prazer and dozens of volunteers will be working hard to achieve just that for the charity which, in the absence of a herealth service like the NHS, helps provide the best medical equipment available for paediatric and geriatric wards in Poland.

Attractions over the forthcoming weekend include childrens entertainment, dancing, music by both English and Polish performers, a table top sale, auctions, raffle, plus Polish food and beer.

“It’s a great way to meet new friends and celebrate the diversity of Redditch and beyond with people coming from Evesham, Kidderminster and Stratford as well – it’s going to be a very good two days,” said Frankie.

On Saturday, January 6, the team from Redditch Wosp will be in the market place in Redditch town centre from 1pm to 3pm handing out flyers for the event.
