CADETS and adult volunteers from Churchill Troop took part in a community litter-picking activity at Arrow Valley Lake in support of the local council and the wider Redditch community.
The activity took place between 10am and 2pm and formed part of the Army Cadet Force’s community engagement syllabus.
During the session, cadets from the small Churchill-based detachment worked around the lake, collecting litter and helping to improve the local environment while also raising awareness of the importance of keeping public spaces clean and safe for everyone.
This community engagement task is designed to encourage cadets to give something back to their local area, develop a sense of civic responsibility and actively support the communities in which they live.
The event also highlighted the positive role that youth organisations, such as the Army Cadet Force, play in supporting local schemes.
Churchill Troop was pleased to be able to assist Redditch Borough Council and contribute in a practical way to the upkeep of one of Redditch’s most well-used public spaces, reinforcing the message that small actions can make a meaningful difference to the community as a whole.
