Class act: Sabrina's educating people on the joys of teaching

Ross Crawford 30th May, 2021

A LOCAL secondary school teacher features a new film encouraging people to choose teaching for a career.

It’s all part of a recruitment drive by Get Into Teaching to boost numbers in schools.

Sabrina Sacco, a performing arts teacher at Alcester Academy who appears in the film said: “Helping to shape the lives of the next generation on a daily basis is a real privilege.

“For me, you can’t beat the moments you see a student’s face light up when they learn something new in one of your lessons.

“Performing Arts is a subject that allows students to express themselves in a way that’s different to other subjects.

“It allows them to be their authentic self, which is so liberating. Being able to watch students thrive during my lessons and be as excited and passionate about the subject as much as I am, is pretty special.

“I’m so proud to have contributed to today’s new film, which celebrates teachers’ love for their favourite subjects.

“I would encourage anyone thinking about their next steps who has the passion and potential to teach to find out more about making it their career.”
