REDDITCH’S One Stop Shops are to close for good this coming Monday, March 23.
The shops, located in Batchley, Winyates and Woodrow centres had been earmarked to close on April 1 as part of a savings drive by the Borough Council.
However a spokesperson from the authority said that, in light of the current coronavirus threat and to keep staff safe they would be closing earlier than planned.
The One Stop Shop closures are part of a package of measures designed to help the cash-strapped Council balance its books.
Councillors took the decision in the light of the number of people using the shops dwindling and the increase in alternative means of paying and places to pay.
None of the staff will be be made redundant and the payment desk at the Town Hall will remain open.
