GOLFERS have chipped in by raising £3,500 to help a disabled eight-year-old child after being brought together by Redditch-based training and recruitment firm e-Response.

The company has pledged to raise £55,000 through its Mia Foundation, which was launched earlier this year, to help the parents of Mia Williams – Dean and Fran – finance desperately require alterations to their home.

The funds will help the family to care for Mia who was born without eyes and suffers from cerebral palsy and epilepsy.

e-Response brought together 18 teams who played in a golf contest on October 9 at Blackwell Golf Club near Bromsgrove to help raise their fund-raising efforts, which was well over the £9,000 mark prior to the event.

Joe Alekna, operations director of eResponse Group, said: “Dean and Fran are utterly devoted parents and with the adaptations to their home they can give Mia the best possible quality of life.

“We’re determined to get to that £55,000 target and the golf day has helped that little bit more – the generosity of people is amazing.”
