Come 'face to face' with the artist at Workhouse exhibition in Studley

Redditch Editorial 6th Apr, 2019   0

A YEAR-long creative and networking project at the Artists Workhouse in Studley is coming to a close with a special celebration evening and the launch of a new exhibition.

‘Face to face’ was a challenge for contemporary artists in rural areas to link up and meet for discussions, collaborations and projects on the notion of literally meeting face to face – in real life.

The fruits of that collaboration will now go on show at the Redditch Road collective studio.

“It started with artists literally pulling names out of a hat and then being challenged form some kind of relationship by talking about their work and what motivates them and then each artist had to go off and do something on their own from the experience,” said Workhouse curator Dawn Harris.

More than 60 artists were engaged with the networking, talks and meetings and the fruits of their thoughts and labour are on show now at the Artists Workhouse.
