Community rallies to land Eagle a future

AN APPLICATION has been made to make The Eagle pub house a Community Asset of Value to stop it being closed in the future.

Bromsgrove and Redditch Campaign for Real Ale have made the request in an attempt to secure the longevity of the pub on Evesham Road in Crabbs Cross.

If successful the public must be notified if the pub is to be put up for sale and members of the community have six months to put forward the funds to buy the premises. They also have first refusal once the property is on the market.

Terrence Hodges, assistant organiser of the Redditch Beer Festival, said: “This is the first line of defence to keep this community pub open.




“It really is a well run place and is the only one in the area within walking distance for most people.

“It supports several local teams such as the darts. It arranges activities for the public like racing days and day trips.
