BOSSES at a telecoms training and innovations company had the chance to grill their MP.

Nadhim Zahawi, who represents Stratford District and is an elected member of the Business, Innovation and Skills Select Committee, visited Ubi-Tech in Sambourne on Friday, November 21.

The business was set up in 2012 and provides a post-graduate qualification in wireless communications and are hoping to expand and develop into new markets.

Managing director Rob Gardiner said: “Nadhim was most helpful and very forthcoming with information. We wanted to know about various things including Government initiatives and potential funding and he promised to come back to us on all the points we raised.”

Mr Zahawi added: “It was fantastic to see such a thriving growing business working to train people at the forefront of technology here in my constituency. As a member of the Business Innovation and Skills Select Committee I am always keen to hear local businesses talk about their experience in engaging with grant and business support programmes and I’ll be taking their feedback up with my ministerial colleagues.”
