MORRISON’S Community champion Bev Allington teamed up with Matchborough ward Councillor Juliet Brunner to deliver hampers for people self-isolating or who cannot get out to the shops in the current crisis.
“We’ve had a mad panic of shoppers and this was something we chose to do as a store,” said Bev.
“I got in touch with Juliet because she has a lot of contacts in the community so we could make sure the hampers went to people in need.
”I’m pleased that Morrison’s were able to help.”
The hampers included bread milk tinned goods and some sweet treats and were distributed on Tuesday.
Coun Brunner said: ”Bev is wonderful and epitomises the words community champion.”
“I delivered one to a widow whose children live hundreds of miles away she broke down crying.
“I am delighted that here in Redditch we pull together in hard times.”
