THE votes are currently being verified ready for the count to begin at the Abbey Stadium for the Redditch Borough Council local elections.
In an election like no other, postponed from last year due to the pandemic, Labour are defending seven seats – Batchley and Brockhill, Church Hill, Central, Greenlands, Lodge Park, Matchborough and Winyates and the Conservatives two, Headless Cross & Oakenshaw and West, where Council Leader Matt Dormer is defending his seat.
One of the great unknowns is how many people ventured out to vote and how many postal votes were sent in.
We’ll be covering events as the evening unfolds.
