THE ANNUAL Bromsgrove Beer and Cider Festival will raise funds for the town’s branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL).
The event takes place at the Rugby Club between 6pm and 11pm on Thursday, June 28, for Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) members, then from midday to 11pm on the Friday and 11am to 9pm on the Saturday.
The event will boast 144 real ales and more than 60 ciders and perries with some showcasing local breweries as part of the CAMRA LocAle campaign.
Visitors will be able to find out more about the Redditch and Bromsgrove CAMRA branch, which runs the festival, and campaigns to promote real ale and support local pubs.
Outside the marquee, Bromsgrove Rugby club will be complementing the event with a world food village, children’s rides, falconry and live entertainment.
The event supporting the RBL is particularly poignant and fitting as this year marks the centenary of the end of the First World War and the 95th anniversary of the Bromsgrove branch of the Royal British Legion being formed.
The branch supports servicemen and women living in Bromsgrove and surrounding areas. A number of beers have been chosen with this theme in mind.
Admission is by festival entry pack which is £10.
It includes £5 of drinks tokens, a commemorative festival glass and programme and CAMRA card carrying members will receive an additional £2 of vouchers.
Camping is available at the Rugby Club on a first-come first-served basis.
Due to licensing laws, the consumption of people’s own alcohol, and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.
There will be limited parking at the Rugby Club, and we encourage the use of local taxi, bus and train services.
