THE Net Zero Carbon Plan of Worcestershire County Council is now available to view online.
In 2019, the council agreed to work towards the national net zero target set by Central Government, aiming to reduce the Council’s GHG emissions to as near to zero (net zero) as possible by 2050.
Its first Net Zero Carbon Plan was approved towards the end of 2020 and sets out how the Council aims to reach this target.
The Council also signed up to the Government’s voluntary Emissions Reduction Pledge committing to a minimum of 30 per cent reduction in GHG emissions from 2009/10 levels by 2020/2021.
To date, the Council has reduced its GHG emissions by 40 per cent since 2009/10.
