CRABBS Cross Academy raised almost £700 for Cancer Research UK by holding its own Race for Life event.
Children from reception and Key Stage 1 were smiling from ear to ear as they ran their socks off to cover five laps of the school’s 200m course.
Key Stage 2 children pushed themselves even further by completing 3k and 15 laps around the course.
PE co-ordinator at Crabbs Cross, Sarah Swan, said: “We had really good feedback from the day.
“A lot of parents were upset because their children weren’t able to attend the Race for Life at Arrow Valley Park, so it was great were able to hold our own.”
Each child was given a medal which was specially-designed by Cancer Research UK on the day.
