REDDITCH running group, Crabbs Cross Chasers have presented a cheque for £550.97 to Ian Northcott BEM, founder of the Socks & Chocs charity, which aims to relieve hardship and distress for homeless people.

Led by qualified leaders Doug Richards, Julie Swain and Mike Fidler, Crabbs Cross Chasers, last year named England Athletics’s RunTogether Group of the Year for the West Midlands, meet twice a week for free social runs – and welcome runners of all abilities.

“Although there is no fee for joining or running with us, we do have a charity bucket at each of our sessions which people can make a voluntary contribution to,” said Doug.

“Our main motivation for our social runs is to maintain our own physical and mental wellbeing.

“To be able to help deserving causes such as Socks & Chocs at the same time is an added bonus.”
