CRIMESTOPPERS is offering a reward of up to £20,000 for key information given anonymously about an attempted murder in Redditch.

The reward is for information about three men who were involved in the incident at the scene on Ombersley Close on March 26.

Two of the men shot at one another over a car, which led to a bullet hitting the vehicle.

One then proceeded to enter local residents’ gardens and knocked on doors asking to enter.

Another wanted man was believed to be on an electric bike. All involved in the incident fled shortly afterwards.

Seven people have been arrested so far – a man, 19, on suspicion of attempted murder, and a man, 25, and a woman, 38, on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All three have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

On April 3 a woman, 25, was arrested at an address in Redditch on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has been bailed pending further enquiries.

These latest arrests follow a 33-year-old man being held on suspicion of attempted murder.

Alan Edwards, Crimestoppers’ West Midlands Regional Manager, said: “Incidents like this can be very concerning for those that live locally and our charity believes that everybody has the right to feel safe.

“We encourage anybody who knows what happened and who was involved, to talk to Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously at any time.

“We are independent of the police and people have been trusting us with their information since we started over 35 years ago.

“Our charity hopes that by appealing for information given anonymously and offering a reward, this could avoid somebody coming to harm in the future.”

Det Insp Warren Matthews, from North Worcestershire CID, said: “Although seven suspects have now been arrested in connection with the incident we continue to appeal for witnesses and ask anyone who saw the incident or who has doorbell/CCTV footage to come forward.”
