Crowds flock to Redditch Police and Fire Station for open day

THE AUTUMN sun shone brightly on a hugely successful open day at Redditch Police and Fire Station – with an estimated 10,000 people in attendance.

West Mercia Police teams and emergency services partners, including West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS), St John Ambulance, West Midlands Ambulance Service, North East Worcestershire First Responders, anti-knife crime campaigner Pete Martin.

Chief Constable Richard Cooper, Supt Helen Kinrade and Insp Rich Field and the Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Teams joined their own mascot PD Peeler as so many children and families thronged the station.

There were loads of fun activities on offer including working police cars, the chance to put a loved one in the police van custody cell, a Samba band, food stalls and fairground rides, as well as demonstrations by HWFRS.
