A PLAN to raise thousands of pounds for the Primrose Hospice has been boosted thanks to a charity golf day hosted by a local recruitment firm.
Redditch jobs specialist Workforce Staffing brought 18 teams together from across the region and together they raised £2,380 for the caring charity.
The company’s annual golf competition, held at Blackwell Golf Club, was won by Studley-based Dash Motor Services who took the trophy home for the second time in three years.
To help raise funds, the day also included prizes for the longest drive, a nearest the pin contest, and a competition with a professional trick-shot specialist.
Primrose Hospice relies on voluntary donations and needs almost £2million every year to operate.
It offers support to patients with life limiting illnesses and their families, including children, through their Day Hospice and Family Support services.
Workforce Staffing’s managing director Joe Alekna said: “We had a great day at Blackwell Golf Club, with brilliant prizes and support from local businesses for an exceptionally worthy cause.
“Primrose Hospice does so much for so many people and families around north Worcestershire. As our chosen charity we are doing all we can to support their amazing work.
“We have now raised almost £15,000 this year and aim to keep going with other events.”
Workforce Staffing employs more than 100 people across its Birmingham, Solihull, Redditch, Worcester, Kidderminster, Dudley, Coventry and Rugby branches.
