Digging deep for the future of Matchborough residents

THE LEADER of Redditch’s Conservative group had a blooming wonderful time this week with youngsters from across the borough.

Councillor Juliet Brunner (Con, M’boro) dug deep alongside children from Noah’s Ark Nursery, Matchborough First School and Arrow Vale Academy planting bulbs around Matchborough Water Gardens and in the local community.

She said: “I love Matchborough in the spring when I can see and enjoy the fruits of their labour.”

Now in its ninth year, the project gives children the chance to get involved and look forward to spotting the first daffodils of spring.

“The scheme gives our young people a stake in their community – if they can see the difference they personally have made, they’ll take pride and care for it,” said Coun Brunner.
