REDDITCH History Society will continue its 2023 programme of illustrated talks with its forthcoming meeting on Monday, June 12, focusing on the archaeology service based at The Hive.
The speaker will be Nina O’Hare, the interim learning and outreach manager at the Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service.
Nina’s subject will be the community test pitting that took place in Beoley in autumn 2021 as a part of a wider project, and this talk will be a great opportunity to hear about the processes involved and the results obtained from ‘exploring the past’ through archaeology.
The Redditch History Society meets at the Oasis Christian Centre, 4 Plymouth Road, at 2pm, usually on the second Monday of the month.
Non-members are welcome.
Visit redditchhistorysociety.org.uk for more information.
The society, now thriving again, will be moving back into the large room at the Oasis Centre for the rest of the season.
A group spokesperson said: “We are the only history society in the area which meets in the daytime, and our success means we are always looking for help.
“If any of our members – or visitors – feel they would like to contribute towards the running of the society in any capacity, including refreshments, please volunteer at this meeting.”
