Disposal warning

Redditch Editorial 29th May, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

FRIDGES and freezers must be disposed of correctly to avoid contributing to global warning.

A warning has been issued from Redditch Borough Council appliances should not be left out as if they are taken by unlicensed collectors the metal may be stripped, causing hazardous material to be released into the environment.

If they are still in good working order, there are a number of charities who will accept and collect them, while any not working can be disposed of for free at a household waste recycling centre.

Visit www.letswasteless.com for details of centres and charities. Residents can also call 01527 881188 to arrange a bulky rubbish collection at £7.50 for a single item.
