A DOCTOR from Worcestershire Royal Hospital has won a top national award for her work with the Association of Anaesthetists.
Consultant anaesthetist Satinder Dalay – known as Satty – was awarded the highest honour by the Association of Anaesthetists at their 2020 meeting.
Dr Dalay was nominated for the Association Award after being recognised for her successes as an elected member of the Group of Anaesthetists in Training (GAT) committee. She also edited and produced the latest Group of Anaesthetists in Training Handbook, which all trainee anaesthetists in the UK use as guidance while training.
Clinical director of anaesthetics at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, Dr Joanna Marriott, said: “As a department we’re extremely proud of Satty receiving this well-deserved award.”
Chair of the Trainee Committee of the Association of Anaesthetists, Dr Sally El-Ghazali, said: “Satty has always said that if she was not a doctor, she would be a Match of the Day football pundit!
“Although I have no doubts in her ability to do this job well, we need her to stay in anaesthesia as she is a great asset to our profession. A huge congratulations Satty on the award – you are worthy and deserving of this honour.”
