Dog warden's plea after emaciated stray found with burn marks

Redditch Editorial 26th Apr, 2018   0

THE county’s Dog Warden has been left broken after finding an emaciated stray that had suffered burns, had open wounds and had obviously suffered for some time.

Pip Singleton, who works for Worcestershire Regulatory Services is urging residents to think twice before they buy a pet and consider the commitment and cost first.

The dog, who was found in the Worcester area and was named Eddie Edward, constantly had his head bowed and had to be taken to the vets immediately.

Pip said: “To see the pain that he has endured reflected in the sadness of eyes just breaks you. He didn’t deserve this hand he was dealt in life and how people could do this to a helpless living creature is beyond me.

“This happens far too often for my liking and I wish people as dreadful as this wouldn’t buy dogs if they can’t care for them.

“Thanks to some amazing charities help is available for people who have bought a pet which they can’t afford or cope with so please get in touch before things become out of hand – suffering like this has to end.”
