Dogs Trust in plea for Redditch volunteers to home visit new owners

Redditch Editorial 20th Oct, 2018   0

DOGS Trust Kenilworth is calling for dog lovers in Redditch with spare time on their hands to become a volunteer at their Honiley-based rehoming centre.

Although the rehoming centre has a dedicated team of staff, it also relies on the support of its volunteers to help give hundreds of unwanted and abandoned dogs the care they need while they wait to be adopted.

At the moment they are in particular need of Home Visitors in Redditch to visit new owners to make sure they are ready for their new companion.

Dogs Trust volunteer Marie Charley said: “Volunteers are extremely important to us and we couldn’t care for as many dogs as we do without their help.

“We rehome lots of dogs to people in Redditch so we rely on volunteers for this because of their local area knowledge and flexibility to travel to towns that may be a bit further afield to us, enabling staff to stay with the dogs in the kennels as they await their forever homes.

“If you think you could spare some time to lend a hand, please get in touch.”

If you are interested in volunteering, email Marie Charley on [email protected] or call Dogs Trust Kenilworth on 0300 303 0292 for further details on how you can help.
