With residents preparing to turn their clocks back , police are giving a helpful reminder on how to keep safe this winter.
With the dark nights approaching, home-owners are encouraged to leave lights on where possible and use timer switches to make it look as if you’re at home even when you’re not.
However, lighting does not work miracles and home-owners are urged to ensure their locks, bars and window bolts are strong enough to resist attack.
