THE Kingfisher Shopping Centre came to a halt this morning (Wednesday) when staff carried out their annual fire evacuation test.
Police shut car park 1 and the popular venue was quickly cleared of shoppers and staff.
With all accounted for everyone was later allowed back in and business resumed as normal.
A spokesperson for the Kingfisher said: “The centre carried out their annual fire evacuation this morning.
“This routine activity started at 9.40am lasting approximately 40 minutes.
“This exercise is carried out to ensure the shopping centre and its tenants provide the best service possible to its customers in the event of an emergency.”
