REDDITCH Special Olympics triumphed at the West Midland Regional Football Tournament on Sunday (May 21) winning gold in both their respective divisions.
Spokesman Ron Daykin said he was delighted with the way the teams had performed: “Then to top the day’s amazing football our B team won the knockout cup competition – it couldn’t get better than that!” he said.
“Competing against eight other teams both our teams played well with the B team winning all their division matches.”
The tournament saw close to 100 players of different intellectual disabilities competed for gold, silver and bronze medals.
As well as that, alongside the cup competition players could test their prowess in the the individual skills test.
“Many thanks to all who helped and the athletes who made it a magical day for Redditch and disability sport,” said Ron.
