A DRINK driver who crashed into a tree on Bromsgrove Road in Redditch was more than twice over the legal limit, say police.
Officers attended the scene at 1am this morning, Tuesday, August 4.
They say the driver blew 73micrograms of alcohol in his breath – the legal limit is 35.
Officers also said they believed he was under the influence of drugs.
He was arrested at the scene and then taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for treatment for potentially serious injuries caused in the crash.
People found guilty of drink or drug driving – or refusing to take provide a specimen for analysis – face a minimum 12months driving ban, a fine of up to £5,000, up to six months in prison, and will have a criminal record.
