AMBULANCE bosses are urging all drivers to be extra mindful of young children after two were injured in collisions this week.
The crashes in Wolverhampton and Brierley Hill left one child needing to be airlifted to the regions paediatric major trauma centre with potentially serious head injuries, as well as a badly broken right leg. On the same day, a 10-year-old girl was hit by a car and suffered a badly broken right leg.
An ambulance spokesperson said: “Whilst drivers should always be aware of children, it is particularly important that they are mindful of youngsters potentially running into the road during half term.
“Equally, we would urge all parents to have the conversation with their children of the need to be careful when playing near or crossing roads.”
