Drivers caught for speeding, driving anti-socially and having no insurance

Redditch Editorial 29th Jun, 2020 Updated: 29th Jun, 2020   0

IT WAS a busy night shift for the Alvechurch and Wythall Safer Neighbourhood officers between Wednesday and Friday last week with a number of vehicles stopped for driving offences.

A Volkswagen Polo was stopped and seized after PC Danny Fulford and PC Freckleton found it to be uninsured on the Alcester Road in Hollywood, Wythall.

Two other vehicles were caught for the same offence.

The drivers are facing a £300 fine, six penalty points on their licence and more than £150 for recovery costs.

Also in the same shift two Section 59 orders were issued for vehicles being driven anti-socially on Houndsfield Lane and Truemans Heath Lane.

The motorists were pulled over for speeding and the manner in which the cars were being driven.

They were given advice by the officers and, under Section 59 legislation, face having their cars seized and crushed if caught driving anti-socially again within the next 12 months.
