Yet government plans to streamline local authorities into single tier administrations could see Worcestershire County Council taking all the decisions for Redditch.
That wouldn’t do much for local democracy.
That’s why what is happening in Warwickshire is so interesting. There the districts and boroughs have hit back at a perceived ‘power grab’ by the county council.
Everyone want politicians who are local and accountable to the people.
It will be interesting to see what happens in Redditch.“
