The Government’s one year £20 weekly ‘uplift’ in Universal Credit is due to finish at the end of April.
Without doubt it has been a lifeline for many struggling to put food on the table and pay the bills during the pandemic.
And with rent and council tax rises in the pipeline, the situation is likely to get worse before it gets better.
Therefore the call by Citizens Advice Bromsgrove and Redditch for the UC uplift to be extended is to be welcomed.“
