AN EMPLOYEE at the town’s McDonald’s is being honoured for his dedication to the restaurant after 20 years of service.
Edward Burdan, who lives with learning difficulties, works part time at the restaurant on Black Soils Road, Moons Moat, and was celebrated in a presentation in London yesterday (October 16).
The 41-year-old received an achievement award by Redditch MP Karen Lumley and local franchisee Robert Holdcroft.
He said: “This has been one of the best days of my life.
“I’ll keep the trophy in my bedroom where I can see it when I go to bed – I want to take the award in to work to show everyone.”
Mrs Lumley was treated to a tour of the Head Office which allowed her to get an in depth look at McDonald’s as a business and to discuss the contribution that Robert Holdcroft’s restaurants make to the local community.
She added: “It was fantastic to meet with Edward and Robert and see for myself how the support, qualifications and training McDonald’s provides is available for everyone, no matter their situation.”
