A HOST of familiar characters from the world of cinema and literature have been making a guest appearance in the lanes and gardens around Oversley Green over the last two weeks.

Mickey Mouse, the Gruffalo, and Willy Wonka were just some of the special guests that have popped up as part of the hamlet’s annual Scarecrow competition.

Now in its sixth year, the fun event is organised by the Oversley Green Residents Association and gives visiting families a lot of pleasure as well as encouraging a sense of community spirit.

This year there was an open theme and entrants were judged by Alcester’s mayor Councillor Mike Bowe accompanied by Oversley Green resident Joyce Berry.
