Elderly man injured in car crash near Redditch last night

A MAN in his 70s was injured in a car crash last night which involved two cars and a lorry.

It happened around 4.40pm on Wednesday (October 25) at the junction between Edgioake Lane and The Saltway, near Holberrow Green.

The smash involved a DAF lorry, red Volkswagen Gold and a blue Mazda estate car.

The man, who had been travelling in the blue Mazda, was treated at the scene by paramedics West Midlands Ambulance, before being taking to the Alex with chest pain and a suspected broke collarbone.

His condition is not thought to be life threatening at this time.

Two other people were treated for minor injuries at the scene and the road remained blocked until 6.45pm while an oil spillage was cleared from the road surface.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 553s of 25 October.
