Emmanuel Church Craft Club get ready for Operation Christmas Child

Redditch Editorial 16th Oct, 2015 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

THE KIND-hearted members of Emmanuel Church Craft Club are rolling up their sleeves to prepare for Operation Christmas Child.

Every year the club, which is based at the Ecumenical Centre on Evesham Walk, raise as much money as possible to send gift-filled shoe boxed to the Samaritan’s Purse UK appeal.

Pat Blount, member of the Emmanuel Church Craft Club, said: ” A shoe box can have a big impact for a child that has nothing at Christmas.

“Last year we sent over 100 boxes – it is our way of making a difference and showing a child somewhere in the world that we care.”

As part of the fund-raising effort, the club will be holding daily Bric-a-Brac sales next week from Monday (October 26) to Friday (October 30) at the Ecumenical Centre between 10am and 12 noon.

Residents and shoppers alike are invited to pop in and have a cup of tea or coffee whilst they find a bargain or an early Christmas present.

Anyone who wants to help with the Operation Christmas Child appeal can drop off items to go into the shoe boxes at the Centre at their convenience.
