A REDDITCH man was applauded by NHS staff as he left intensive care yesterday after beating Covid-19.
Leighton Webster spent 59 days battling the deadly virus at the Alexandra Hospital and had a few ‘close calls’ during his stay, according to the hospital trust.
He has now made a recovery.
The hospital trust shared a video of the emotional moment Mr Webster left intensive care which you can see below:

42-year-old Leighton had a few close calls, but thanks to care of the team on the unit at Alexandra Hospital, he’s now improved enough to move out of ICU.

A trust spokesperson said: “Mr Leighton, aged 42, had a few close calls, but thanks to care of the team on the unit at Alexandra Hospital, he’s now improved enough to move out of ICU.”
