Enjoy a traditional Christmas Fair at Redditch's Forge Mill

Redditch Editorial 28th Nov, 2016   0

FORGE Mill Needle Museum will be getting in the festive spirit this week as it welcomes visitors to its annual Victorian Christmas Craft Fair.

From 11am until 4pm this weekend (December 3 and 4) visitors will be able to visit more than 20 craft stalls whilst listening to Christmas music provided by Alcester Victoria Silver band and Indigo Arts as well as sampling some mulled wine and roasted chestnuts to keep warm.

The atmospheric Palace of Curiosities hopes to bring the wonderment, macabre and family fun of a Victorian travelling sideshow and there will also be demonstrations shedding some light on how candle making was done in Victorian times.

Children can visit Father Christmas between 11am and 3pm, ride some junior swing boats as well as make a special traditional decoration for the tree.

Refreshments will be served by the Abbey Meadows Coffee bar and Coun Pat Witherspoon, whose portfolio covers Leisure and Cultural services, said: “No one did Christmas quite like the Victorians did, so the event at Forge Mill will be a wonderful way to get into the festive spirit.”

The event costs £1 for adults and children can go for free, although some additional charges for activities will apply.
