AN abandoned square of land has been transformed into a garden of delights at the VIP Centre in Winyates.
The centre offers day care and respite facilities for people with dementia and now users will have a fabulous green space to enjoy come the warmer months.
The scheme was the brainchild of staff at Dilwyn Close-based Your Ideas Youth and Community Project and funded through Grow Wild and its Flowers to the People campaign, which itself is backed by the Big Lottery Fund.
Jordan Cooke who helped drive the project said: “The space was completely empty and we have used the money to renovate the garden over the last six months, building planters, putting up a pergola and planting.
