LUDLOW Road in Redditch on Mount Pleasant near town centre came to a grinding halt earlier today, Wednesday, April 6, after a dumper truck crashed into a home.

A 999 call was received at approximately 11am, resulting in fire service appliances from Redditch, Droitwich and the Urban Search and Rescue team arriving at the scene.

Members of Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service liaised with the police and contractors to work out how best to recover the vehicle.

No one was injured as a result of the crash but the building suffered significant damage.

Redditch Borough Council are now assisting with rehousing the residents of the damaged property.

Once the vehicle had been recovered, the Urban Search and Rescue team began inspecting the scene to make it safe.
