Family left devastated after dog taken from Arrow Valley

A YORKSHIRE Terrier has been stolen from Arrow Valley in East Redditch last week.

The dog, 12 year old Fred, was out on his morning wander when the family mistakenly locked him out, he was then seen being bundled into a people carrier.

His owner, Gillian Davies, is devastated and just wants him home.

“It wasn’t until the next day that witness came forward and said they saw him being taken.

“We thought after that that he’d be home soon, that whoever took him would take him to the vets because he is microchipped.

“It’s been over a week and we’ve heard nothing.”

The witnesses said that the people carrier drove off in the direction of Washford Mill.

“We’ve tried Facebook appeals, reporting it to the police, posters but no one seems to have seen him.

“He’s our dog, and we want him home.

“Please whoever has him just anonymously drop him off at a vets, he’s microchipped, and we will be able to be contacted.

“We’ve all been having sleepless nights, I wake up thinking about Fred, we miss him so much.”

Jo Monk, County Councillor Arrow Valley East Redditch, said: “I’ve been aware of the increase in dog thefts from the press and social media, especially over lockdown.

“Unfortunately I lost my dog due to ill health earlier this year so I know how Lauren and her family feel.

“I would ask the public to please be more vigilant when walking your dogs and make sure they’re safe.”

If anyone has any information please contact the family on 07540499616.
