A 'fantastic' start for Studley business group meetings

THE FIRST formal meeting of Studley in Business was deemed a success last week with more than 25 local firms represented.

Earlier this month, district councillor Justin Kerridge (Con, Studley N / M’boro Green) urged businesses to join him in discussing how to make the village a better place to live as well as increase business-to-business deals.

The group also hopes to encourage apprenticeships by linking with local schools.

“We want everyone to join, not just the bigger names but the small one-man-bands who perhaps work from home,” said Coun Kerridge.

He added that the first meeting was ‘fantastic in bringing people together’ and the forum would focus on its ‘concrete goals’ at the next session.

Former district councillor Nick Moon added: “We want to make Studley a destination village where people want to come and shop and wander The High Street, eat in the local restaurants and have a coffee in a coffee shop.”

The group next meets at The Shakespeare, Studley, from 5.30pm on February 10.
