THE Kingfisher Probus Club is making itself at home at its new meeting place – in Bromsgrove.
Forced to quit the Foxlydiate due to the redevelopment of the much-loved pub, the organisation for retired and semi-retired men now meets at the Court Leet, 174 Worcester Road, Bromsgrove B61 7AY on the second Thursday of every month.
During lockdown the club managed to retain its membership with a series of online quizzes, newsletters and jokes, and is now looking forward to re-establishing its much-loved walks. golf tournaments and special get-togethers, where partners, friends and family are welcome to go along.
Meetings run from 11.30am to around 2.30pm and include lunch at £5 a head and a top quality speaker.
With water quality and sewage very much in the news last week, their speaker at last month’s meeting, David Moore from Lichfield Waterworks Trust on the theme of ‘clean water’ couldn’t have been more pertinent.
The club describes its members as a no tie and relaxed group of people and if anyone is interested in joining them they should call Chris Bailey on 01527 835802, or visit: http://kingfisherprobusredditch.co.uk/
