FECKENHAM village shop volunteers had a delivery of a different kind when they were presented with an award from the Queen.
The community enterprise group, which set up the shop in 2009, received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service from the Lord Lieutenant Patrick Holcroft.
The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work in their communities.
The shop is open 60 hours a week by a team of more than 80 people and involves everyone from teenagers to pensioners.
And following its success, a café with free wifi has also been built.
