RESIDENTS are urged to have their say as theconsultation on the proposal to relocate Redditch Library closes next week.
Two face to face sessions have now taken place at Redditch Library, where residents provided feedback and asked questions about the relocation proposals.
The feedback from these public meetings will be included in the consultation report findings, alongside the online and paper surveys received.
This report will then go to Cabinet in late Spring, where a decision will be made on whether the relocation of the library will go ahead.
Coun Marcus Hart, cabinet member with responsibility for communities at Worcestershire County Council said: “We have heard from many local residents over the last few weeks, and it is evident from the feedback we’ve received so far that Redditch Library is seen as a hugely valuable service for the community.
“It’s important to reiterate at this point in the consultation, that Worcestershire County Council has been clear that if the library was to be relocated, there would be no reduction in library services and the library service would remain accessible to all.
“The consultation is now nearing its end, and we would like to remind any residents who have yet to provide feedback on the proposals and who wish to do so, to complete the survey before the deadline of 24 February.”
