25 of Worcestershire’s best apprentices, employers, training providers and schools have been named as finalists for the Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards 2018.

Out of the 10 categories, which ranged from ‘Training Provider of the Year’ to ‘Apprenticeship Ambassador of the Year’, Redditch-related people or businesses made three of them.

RSA Academy Arrow vale is nominated for ‘School of the year’ and Bethany Clayton from Morgan Advanced Materials is nominated for ‘Advanced Level Apprentice of the Year’.

Meanwhile Redditch dominated the category ‘Training Provider of the year’, with two of the three nominations going to Midland Group Training Services and Nova.

Judges chose the finalists by looking at how much of a positive contribution they make in Worcestershire.

Coun Marcus Hart, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Education and Skills at Worcestershire County Council, said: “I would like to congratulate everyone who has been shortlisted for the finals.

“More and more people are recognising apprenticeships as a viable career option, not only as a way to gain relevant industry skills but also as a chance to reach the very top of any profession.”

Finalists and guests will attend the award ceremony at 6.30pm on November 15 at the Tree Tops Pavilion in West Midlands Safari Park.

Winners from each category will be announced by BAFTA-nominated TV presenter, Angellica Bell.
