Fire rips through flats at Cash Generator on Evesham Walk in Redditch

A FIRE investigation has been launched after the flats above the Cash Generator pawn shop at the top of Unicorn Hill / Evesham Walk was swept by by fire last night, Thursday, August 28.

The alarm was raised at 2am in the morning and seven appliances rushed to the scene, three from Redditch, two from Bromsgrove, one from Worcester and one from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service based at Alcester.

The fire is understood to have broken out on the second floor above the Cash Generator shop.

A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said no one was injured no one was injured.




He added that the blaze was declared exinguished by 4am and by 9am this morning firefighters were continuing to dampen down the premises.

Energy distribution company Western Power were on the scene to make the building safe.


Drivers are urged to avoid the area to prevent congestion on Unicorn Hill.
