THE FIRE service has explained all the activity at Redditch’s Alexandra Hospital this morning.
We contacted Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) after a number of concerned residents who feared the hospital was on fire got in touch.
According to HWFRS, the alarm was raised at 10.28am and several engines were sent to the scene.
When they got there, crews investigated and identified an incident involving a faulty light fitting.
A spokesperson for HWFRS said: “We sent a number of appliances based on the report and the potential impact a fire may have on a working hospital, resources were quickly scaled down once the first crew made their assessment.
“The incident is now marked as closed.”
