MORE than £530 was raised by Redditch firefighters and members of the Young Firefighters Association (YFA) at a charity car wash at the town fire station last Saturday.
Rolling up her sleeves and lending a hand was Borough Mayor Councillor Juliet Brunner who, armed with a bucket and sponge, quickly got to work.
“They raised £532 in total which was a fantastic amount,” she said.
“And I don’t think my husband’s car has ever been so clean.”
The money will be split between the Firefighters Charity, the YFA and the Mayor’s charities Bowel Cancer UK, the Royal British Legion and Sandycroft.
