LOCAL businesses and residents in the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) area – which includes Redditch and Bromsgrove – have benefitted from more than £182million in investment by the LEP since 2014, according to the latest figures.

This has helped create 5,764 new jobs and in turn has seen a 4.9 per cent increase in goods and services produced in the region.

Tim Pile, chair of GBSLEP, said: “We’ve been very successful over the last few years and have seen some terrific achievements.

“But there is still much to be done to ensure that everyone benefits from this economic growth.

“We have an exciting pipeline of important projects and I am looking forward to seeing those initiatives flourish over the coming years, further driving our economy forward.”

Redditch Borough Council, which had been a member of both Worcestershire LEP and GBSLEP, recently agreed to commit fully to the latter and leave the former.
